The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced favorable conditions for the advance of Southwest Monsoon over several parts of the country, including Gujarat, in the next 3 to 4 days. Heavy rains with strong winds and lightning are predicted in Gujarat, Maharashtra and South India. On the other hand, the people of Delhi and UP will have to wait till the first week of July to get relief from the heat.
Gujarat Monsoon Update: Rainfall maps for 27 June to 3 July 2026 have been released by Meteorological Centre, Ahmedabad. According to the forecast, there will be light rain at isolated places mainly over South Gujarat, East-Central Gujarat and some districts of Saurashtra during June 27 to 30, while parts of Kutch and North Gujarat will remain mostly dry. However, from July 1, the intensity of rain will increase in the state and on July 2 and 3, Monsoon will spread across Gujarat bringing light to moderate rains in all districts. Especially the south Gujarat belt including Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat and Valsad is likely to record good rain.

Weather for 27 June
Light to moderate rain is likely at scattered places in most parts of Gujarat state. Including Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Chotaudepur, Vadodara, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli. Apart from this, light rain may also occur in Morbi, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Botad, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Junagadh, Gir Somnath and Diu of Saurashtra. Also Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda and Anand are expected to remain mainly dry weather.

Weather for 28 June
The intensity of rain will be limited to south and east Gujarat. Vadodara, Chotaudepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli. In Saurashtra, light rain is likely at isolated places in Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath and Diu only. Also North Gujarat, rest of central Gujarat, Kutch and rest of Saurashtra will remain completely dry.

Weather for 29 June
The situation will remain the same as on June 28. In which all the districts of South Gujarat (Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli) and Vadodara and Chotaudepur in East Gujarat may receive scattered rain. In Saurashtra, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath and Diu are likely to receive light rain. And there is no chance of rain in all remaining districts.

Weather on 30 June
There will be some area of rainfall. Districts of entire South Gujarat and East-Central Gujarat (Anand, Vadodara, Chotaudepur, Panchmahal, Mahisagar, Dahod). In Saurashtra, light to moderate rain is forecast at scattered places over Botad, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Junagadh, Gir Somnath and Diu. And the weather will remain dry in Kutch, North Gujarat (Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha) as well as Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

Date 01 July Weather
The intensity of rain will increase in South Gujarat on this day and there is warning of thundershower in some places. Some places will see light to moderate rain. South Gujarat districts like Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli may witness relatively good rainfall. North-East Gujarat (Aravalli, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Dahod) and Anand. In Saurashtra, Rajkot, Botad, Surendranagar), Bhavnagar, Amreli, Junagadh, Gir Somnath and Diu may experience light rain with thunder.

Date 02 July Weather
Monsoon will cover the entire state and rainfall will be widespread. All parts of South Gujarat viz Vadodara, Bharuch, Narmada, Chotaudepur, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli will receive light to moderate rain. And all over Gujarat and all remaining districts of Saurashtra-Kutch viz., Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Banaskantha, Rajkot etc. light to moderate rain will be recorded on this day.

Date 03 July Weather
Widespread rain conditions similar to July 2 will continue. Moderate rain is expected in south and east Gujarat belt like Vadodara, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli. And light rain will continue over all districts of Saurashtra, Kutch and all areas of North-Central Gujarat.
