Just before the much-awaited ‘India AI Impact Summit’ to be held in the country’s capital, a disappointing news has come for the organizers and the tech world. Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia (Nvidia), the world’s leading company in Artificial Intelligence (AI) chip manufacturing, has canceled his visit to India. A senior government official confirmed the development on Friday evening.
Huang’s visit was considered very important for India’s AI ecosystem, but now the company has made it clear that due to unavoidable reasons he will not be able to be personally present at this summit. A senior government official has informed that the top leadership of Nvidia has decided to cancel their trip. “The Nvidia CEO has canceled his visit due to some unavoidable circumstances,” the official said.
However, the company has ensured that their participation in this important program continues. In the absence of the CEO, Nvidia is sending a ‘high-level delegation’ that will represent the company at the summit and discuss India’s AI vision.
Mahakumbh India AI Impact Summit is being organized at Bharat Mandapam from 16th February. This program will be held at the prestigious Bharat Mandapam located at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This summit will start from 16th February and continue till 20th February. The aim of this five-day event is to put India on the AI map of the world and promote technological innovations. Jensen Huang was one of the major attractions of the event, and his presence was expected to give a major boost to India’s AI ambitions on the global stage.
Nvidia’s position in the tech world needs no introduction. The company is one of the most prominent players in the global AI ecosystem. Nvidia’s dominance is mainly due to its fast processing GPU servers, which are considered the backbone for training and running AI models.
For India, which is rapidly expanding its digital public infrastructure and AI capabilities, a partnership with a company like Nvidia is strategically important. Although the CEO’s arrival has been postponed, the presence of a high-level delegation will ensure that the company remains serious about the Indian market and its AI potential.
