In response to a question in the Lok Sabha Ministry of External Affairs Gave information about Indians studying and working abroad. In this, an important information was given by the Ministry regarding Indian students studying in Russia. According to the data shared by the ministry, till January 1, 2025, 201 complaints were received from Indian students studying in Russia. Of these, 106 complaints came from Moscow, while 5 from St. Petersburg. The government also said that the number of Indians studying in Russian universities is only 27,222.

Why did the data cause tension?

What problems are the students facing?

The mission of the Ministry of External Affairs has also prepared a list of complaints that they receive from students. Like many times they are made to work without paying or they are exploited. Russia is a high-risk country in terms of complaint rates. This does not mean that this country itself is completely unsafe. Many students are studying there without any problem.
