Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarnagar. Budhana Kotwali police had an encounter with miscreants late on Wednesday night. The criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 was killed in the firing by the police, while his accomplice escaped.

Sub-inspector Sandeep Kumar and constable Ishfaq were also injured in the firing by the miscreants. SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma said that the killed miscreant Amjad was a resident of Harsauli village of Shahpur police station area.

More than 40 criminal cases including murder, robbery, murderous assault and gangsterism were registered against him. Amjad committed criminal crimes in UP including Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.
