New Delhi: BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla has clarified that the audio clip attached to him in a Pakistani TV show regarding the upcoming India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match has been created with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is not his actual statement. The BCCI Vice President has appealed not to believe or share such misleading and fake content, but to report such content wherever you see it.

Rajeev Shukla wrote on social media platform ‘X’, ‘In a video of my talk on India-Pakistan World Cup match, the audio has been changed using AI. These things are not mine. I appeal to everyone not to believe or share this misleading content and to report such videos wherever they are seen.

A Pakistani cricket show hosted by former cricketer Shoaib Malik played an AI-generated version of the audio clip of Shukla’s comments on ‘ARY News’ in which he talked about Pakistan’s U-turn on the proposal to boycott the high-voltage match. In the video viral on social media, Malik can be heard saying, ‘I would like to show you a clip of BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla.’

In the clip, a voice similar to that of Rajeev Shukla can be heard saying, ‘I am very happy to see the outcome of the talks initiated by the ICC representative on BCCI’s repeated request to persuade Pakistan to play against India. This is a good solution, a mutually agreed solution which has been arrived at to give priority to the importance of cricket to the game. This is what has been done.

However, the tone of Shukla’s initial talks was different. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, he praised the ICC for finding a mutually agreed solution, saying, ‘I am very happy to see the outcome of the talks initiated by the ICC representative, which was overseen by the ICC Chairman, and then the representatives who went to Lahore to talk to the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Bangladesh Cricket Board. This is a good solution, a friendly solution that has been found to give priority to the importance of cricket in the game.
