Destructive innings played in the final
This celebration of Vaibhav has come after his historic innings which had eliminated the England team from the match. This 14 year old player did incredible batting on a big stage like the final and scored an inning of 175 runs in just 80 balls. The special thing about his innings was that he hit 15 sixes and 15 fours in his innings. Apart from this, on the basis of his innings, India posted a huge score of 411 runs on the board. After which India bowled out England for 311 runs and captured the trophy by winning the final by 100 runs.
Vaibhav was the player of the tournament
For his stellar performance in the tournament, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was awarded both the Player of the Final Match and Player of the Tournament awards. During the awards ceremony, he shared the secret of his success and said, ‘I had full confidence in my skills that I can contribute in big competitions. We had decided not to take unnecessary pressure in the final. We just followed the same process that worked for us throughout the tournament and played our natural game.
