Oman captain Jatinder Singh
Oman’s team is also being led by Ludhiana-born Jatinder Singh. Jatinder’s journey started without any big academy or formal coaching. He honed his technique by playing on cement and astro turf wickets. Jatinder, who considers Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli as his idols, is today the highest run-scorer for Oman in T20. After taking over the captaincy of the team in 2025, he led Oman to the Asia Cup for the first time.
Canadian captain Dilpreet Singh Bajwa
Similarly, the reins of the Canadian team are in the hands of Dilpreet Singh Bajwa of Garudaspur Punjab. Born in 2003, Dilpreet played a brilliant inning of 130 runs at the Under-19 level in Punjab, but due to not getting a chance there, his parents decided to go to Canada in 2020. Dilpreet proved his talent there and became the first Canadian player to score a century in Global T20 Canada. Captaining on a big stage like the World Cup at the age of just 23 is a proof of his ability. His aggressive batting will prove to be the most important weapon in Canada’s World Cup campaign.
America’s Captain Monank Patel
The story of Monank Patel, who is captaining America, is no less than a film script. Born in Anand, Gujarat, Monank played cricket at the junior level with Jasprit Bumrah, but when his career did not progress, he shifted to America in 2013. At one time he had made up his mind to leave cricket, but this game again attracted him towards itself. Today he is the backbone of American batting. After becoming the captain in 2021, he shocked the whole world by leading a historic win against Pakistan in the 2024 World Cup. He has been the backbone of America’s batting, scoring 2,288 ODI runs at an average of 34.66, including three centuries and 18 half-centuries, as well as a T20 International century against the Bahamas.
