UGC NET certificate: How to download UGC NET certificate? Know where it is sought

UGC NET Result 2026 and certificate: UGC NET December 2025 result is going to be released today. National Testing Agency (NTA) had already announced that the UGC NET result will be released on February 4, 2026. After the release of the result, candidates will be able to download their scorecard from the official website of NTA UGC NET https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in. After the UGC NET result, NTA will also issue the certificate of the candidates who have qualified in the NET exam.

At what time can the direct link of UGC NET result become active?

The wait of more than 7.35 lakh candidates is going to end today. University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) December 2025 examination was scheduled to be held from 31st December 2025 to 07th January 2026. NTA had informed that the NET result will be released on 4 February 2026. However, no information was given regarding the time of releasing the result. As per the previous pattern, NTA usually releases the NET result after 5 pm. Therefore, it is expected that NTA can activate the direct link of NET result anytime after 5 pm today.

When and where to get UGC NET certificate?

NTA issues the certificate within two-three months of the release of UCG NET result. June 2025 NET exam e-certificate Was released on 12 September 2025. In this way, the certificate of December 2025 NET exam can be issued in May 2026. NET certificates are issued by NTA on the official website of UGC NET, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

How to download UGC NET certificate?

  • After the certificate is issued, first go to the official website of NTA, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
  • On the homepage, click on ‘UGC NET Dec 2025 e-Certificates’ link (may be activated in May 2026).
  • Now you have to login by entering the required credentials.
  • Your June UGC NET certificate will open on the screen, it has to be checked.
  • You can download the certificate and take a printout for further reference.

Where is UGC NET certificate asked?

UGC NET certificate is used as proof of qualification. Its validity is life time. Let us know where this is demanded-

  • Assistant Professor or Lecturer Jobs: Universities or colleges have now started asking for NET certificate in the application form for the post of Assistant Professor or Lecturer. Net certificate also has to be shown at the time of document verification.
  • PhD Admission: If you want to take admission in PhD then you will have to submit NET certificate. From 2024-25, UGC NET score as well as certificate has been made mandatory for eligibility proof. Certificate has to be uploaded along with the admission form.
  • JRF: To claim Junior Researcher Fellowship (JRF), the university asks for NET certificate.
  • Government and Private Sector: NET Qualified Certificate is also asked for in Government and some private sector jobs. Apart from this, it is necessary to have it to participate in the research program.
